George Holding Takes Office in the U.S. House of Representatives

WASHINGTON, D.C. – George Holding was sworn in as Congressman this afternoon on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives by Speaker John Boehner.

Congressman Holding represents the 13th District of North Carolina, which includes part of Wake, Wilson, Wayne, Durham, Nash, Edgecombe, Granville, Franklin, and Vance counties.

“Swearing-in day reminds us of the tremendous history that is the United States House of Representatives,” Holding said.  “I am both honored and proud to represent my home state of North Carolina as we begin the 113th Congress.”

“In past years, our government has spent, taxed, and regulated too much.  As a member of Congress, I am committed to cutting spending, reducing debt, and ending burdensome regulations that hinder economic growth, while also promoting personal responsibility and protecting Constitutional rights.”

Congressman Holding is one of four new Republican members in the House from North Carolina.  The others are Rep. Richard Hudson (NC-08), Rep. Mark Meadows (NC-11), and Rep. Robert Pittenger (NC-09).

Congressman Holding has been assigned to the Committee on the Judiciary and the Committee on Foreign Affairs.
